what is inductor / define inductor

What is an inductor?

The inductor is an electronics and electrical component, its function is some similar to capacitor, because it can store electrical charge.

The inductor can make electromagnets and magnetic fields, this work makes it different from capacitors.

Inductors are made of wire, we wrap conductors such as copper wire or aluminum wire in a round shape then it will work as a inductor, if we use it just like that, the inductor will be made but the performance will be very low, for this we use iron core or ferrite core in any inductor, so that inductor give performance better.

We have main two types of inductor

1- Ferrite core inductor

Ferrite core inductor

If we do not use the core in the inductor, it will store less electrical energy and if we use the core, the same wire will store more energy in one turn.

This is not wrong that if we say that inductor mostly use everywhere, because windings is made by many inductors combination, and our almost 50% to 70% load has winding, which listed in Inductive load such as Fan, Motor, Compressor, Home used Grinder machine, and also transformer has based on inductor.

When we current are supplied to inductor then magnet will made around the inductor, for this we use it in motor, because we required magnetic field in motor.

The main function of the inductor is that it will not change the current suddenly, if 10 amps current passing through the inductor, and if the current changes from the input power source to about 8 amperes or 7 amperes, then the inductor can maintain 10 amperes current there will be no change current quickly. But it can give only a few seconds more current than the input current, because it has stored the current inside. For this inductor also used as current filter in power supply circuit and inverter etc.

The inductor can use both currents such as "AC" and "DC", but inductor makes electromagnetic by only "AC" current, and this electro magnet used for radio signal.

You see antenna in some wireless equipment such as radio, remote control, and some other equipment, this antenna basically type of inductor which current take by electronics circuit, and energized with current then it releases electromagnetic waves and transmit signals in environment, you know that we have always two wireless circuit, one circuit transmit the signals, and other circuit will receive to signal.

When the one antenna transmit electromagnetic waves, and second antenna receive this waves, then receiver antenna will electromagnetic waves converted into current, and current give to circuit so our circuit will work, which signal received from transmitter.

2- Air Inductor Inductor

This type of Inductor not has any core it’s only made of wire, basically this type of Inductor more used in radio and etc. This type of Inductor has low efficient than Ferrite core Inductor, such as core types Inductor most used where we need high frequency, and Air core Inductor used for Low frequency, it also used at high frequency but its efficiency is less than Ferrite core Inductor.

Construction of Inductor

Assuming we check out the development of an inductor it generally comprises of a curl of leading material (broadly utilized ones incorporate protected copper wire) that is folded over a center that is comprised of plastic material or ferromagnetic material. One benefit of utilizing a ferromagnetic center is that it has high penetrability which helps in expanding the attractive field and simultaneously keeping it near the inductor. At last this outcomes in higher inductance.

Then again, inductors with low recurrence are generally developed like transformers. They have centers comprised of electrical steel that is covered to assist with forestalling swirl flows. 'Delicate' ferrites are additionally broadly utilized for centers above sound frequencies.

Inductors truly do come in many shapes and types. In certain inductors, you will observe a movable center that permits changing the inductance. Inductors that are utilized in obstructing extremely high frequencies are for the most part made by hanging a ferrite dab on a wire.

Planar inductors are made utilizing a planar center while little worth inductors are based on coordinated circuits utilizing the cycles of making interconnects. Commonly, an aluminum interconnect is utilized and fixed in a twisting curl design. Be that as it may, little aspects have a few limits. They confine the inductance.
