What is float switch? || How to use float switch as a sensor

The float switch is an types of sensor which sense the water level of water tank.

It used for automatic motor control, that when water tank full or empty the Moto Auto "On" or "Off", and also it used for water level sense, such as level check by LED lights.

Float switch is safe or not?

The float switch is 100% safe because it transfer only a Electrical or electronics signal, which "signal" will read electronic circuit, and perform work as requirements.

And it made by plastic, for this, current can't flow from it to in under water, we can easily used it in water tank without any hesitate or dangers.

How to works Float switch?

The float switch inside has a "Switch Button", "Metallic Ball", and "Copper or Metallic Rod".

These three things is packed in plastic causing or body, basically when
water level is low, then float switch goes to downward, for this Metallic Ball also will go to down, and ball will put the force at the Metallic Rod, then Rod push the switch button, and button will be act as close circuit.

And when tank will fill by water then float switch will go to upward, because water put the pressure at float. So when float will go to upward, then metallic ball come at initial place, like this

So when ball come initial place then Rod also back at initial place, and button will be released, and switch button will act as open circuit.

Thus float switch can out signal by water level.

The float switch has less weight, for this, float can moves easily up or down.

How to use float switch or how to do its connection?

We will use a electronic circuit which circuit has a Relay, so when float switch button will close, then signal will come at electronic circuit, and Relay be "ON" by signal, and when float switch button will be open, then circuit sense that water tank is filled, and electronic circuit will do "OFF" the Relay.

Basically Water motor connected with Relay, actually water motor operates by Relay, and Relay controlled by float switch, thus motor is controlled by float switch.

Note:-

We can't connect float switch directly with Motor, means we cannot use float switch without Relay circuit.

Because Motor takes high current, which current flaot switch will not support, for this we most needs to use a Relay circuit with float switch. If we not used a relay then float switch will be burnt.

We can used alarm system by float switch, that when tank full, then alarm will active for inform that tank has filled by water, and also when tank empty alarm will alert that tank has empty.

And we can control a electrical valve such as Solenoid valve by float switch, means if we needs to ON or OFF a valve when tank empty or full, easily can use float switch.
